Paula Miranda, from Miss Chile to Empowered Entrepreneur

Originally from Quilpué, in the metropolitan region of Valparaíso, Paula Miranda is a woman of multifaceted beauty. On the outside, she looks like a supermodel , but on the inside, she boasts a clear intelligence, determination, and a beautiful soul.

Although at 27 years old she represented Chile in Miss World Wheelchair 2017, a few years earlier, more precisely in 2011, Paula had a car accident that left her quadriplegic .

What was the accident that left you in a wheelchair like?

She was 21 years old and studying physical education when a car cut in between her present and her future . She was in the passenger seat and took the full brunt of the crash.

He says he fell unconscious. Then he woke up and was on the asphalt; the ambulance had already arrived . He felt a tingling sensation throughout his body. He knew that this sensation occurred when his spine was compromised.

He then lost consciousness again and was in a coma for 18 days . He suffered five cardiac arrests, but fought like a beast for his life. When he woke up, everything had changed forever.

Not only did he lose the use of his legs, as he initially thought, but his arms were also paralyzed . He had to create a new life for himself.

She doesn't care if they call her "invalid," "disabled," or whatever. Discriminatory words don't affect her well-tempered temperament.

Getting ahead despite adversity

Paula Miranda wasn't born into the world to be left out of the loop . Her extraordinary resilience helped her accept her newfound quadriplegic status. From the beginning, she aimed to lead as normal a life as possible, and little by little, she has been achieving it.

She had to drop out of Physical Education, but instead enrolled in Psychology. She's now in her fourth year. Her personal experience and newly acquired knowledge have allowed her to become a successful motivational speaker.

Paula is a real diva. Mauricio Torres realized that. since they were both children They would bump into each other at school. They also crossed paths at university, but Mauricio kept his admiration for her to himself.

Time passed, and they stopped seeing each other. One day, he looked her up on Facebook and suggested they visit her. She accepted. It had been three years since the accident . After that, everything just flowed.
