STORIES OF WOMEN LEADERS: “MY PASSION IS KNOWING THAT EVERY DAY IS A NEW CHALLENGE”
Fortunately, women leaders are a global trend; we preside over countries, we are educators, we coordinate organizations, we lead forces, we make decisions that affect thousands of people, and we also fight in the streets for our rights.
As if all this weren't enough, we're also at home, working, educating, raising a family, setting an example, leaving a better world for future generations of women.
Theramart's tribute this Women's Month
We are living in an era of transformation, where our voices are heard loud and clear and will no longer be silenced. The banners of the 21st century are those of empowerment and equal opportunity.
In this context, and in commemoration of Women's Month, Theramart would like to speak about the women in Latin America who are leaders and hold strategic positions in the companies that distribute our products.
With their wisdom and years of experience in quality of life and orthopedics, they manage and coordinate the entire team to ensure our products reach our customers perfectly. They are Laura, Paola, Vivianne, Ilian, Masiel, and Sonia.
The traits of a female leader
We asked them all what the key qualities of a woman in charge are, and they all agreed that teamwork, passion, and empathy are essential for carrying out a project.
"The most important aspects of a female leader's work are communication and team motivation skills; charisma, self-criticism, trust and appreciation for colleagues; flexibility; the ability to help and work alongside others. And, equally important, the ability to identify conflicts." (Laura Lena, Sales Manager, Uruguay)
WHAT IS YOUR DAILY MOTIVATION?
Personal and group growth, and a legacy for their children are the answers these women have given us. In many ways, work can also be considered a big family, where each member contributes something new, and order is essential to maintain harmony. Seeing the family/business progress is a source of great daily satisfaction.
“My journey to the position of director is one filled with challenges, learning, growth, and great personal and professional satisfaction.” (Sonia Bulla, Retail Store Manager, Dominican Republic)
TIPS FOR AN ENTREPRENEURIAL WOMAN
- Never stop doing: "There is no worse management than that which is not done." This is Laura Lena's catchphrase and one of the lessons she's learned throughout her experience. She believes in keeping your head high and always giving more than what is asked for.
- Have confidence in yourself: Paola Pires, head of the marketing, online sales, and communications management department in Chile, believes that a team that consistently pulls in the same direction is the key to any success. But this is only possible when a leader's decisions are based on confidence and commitment to their work.
- Know your client and your team: "Know your client and the people who make up your team. The human factor is a company's main strategic strength." This is the advice offered by Vivianne Chevalier, Executive Commercial and E-Commerce Manager in Panama.
- Be creative and optimistic: Ilian Fernandez M., General Manager in Mexico, believes that perseverance and love for what you do are the keys to success. He advises defending your ideals and always being consistent with yourself. His catchphrase is: "If the plan doesn't work, change the plan, but don't change the goal."
- Enjoy the learning process: Sonia Bulla recommends that female leaders be like sponges, constantly absorbing new knowledge. Growth means listening to the team and those who know more.
- Have patience, love, and courage: For the day-to-day life of an entrepreneurial woman, Masiel Monasterios, Sales Coordinator in Ecuador, recommends that despite obstacles, you always put on your best face. Her catchphrase is: "Nothing is perfect; there's always something to improve and learn."
We hope that the passion with which these women approach their daily work roles will inspire many others who plan big dreams for the future or care for their loved ones at home.
"Transferring that love you have at home to work is the way to achieve any goal and improve any team." (Masiel Monasterios, Sales Coordinator, Ecuador)
No task is small, insignificant, or insufficient for a woman. Our greatest power is knowing we can be whatever we want, choose our own path, and not be afraid to face anything.
