The inspiring story of “Isi”

The most surprising thing about Isi is how naturally she handles unusual situations. She's one of those beings of light whose mere presence illuminates everything around her . Whether it's her quick wit, her precocious maturity, or that melting tenderness, it's clear she knows how to win the hearts of anyone who sees her.

Isidora Guzmán became a celebrity in Chile, without even intending to. Many became familiar with her thanks to her role as the official face of Teleton in 2011. It was easy to see that her surprising charisma would take her far. What no one imagined was that it would happen so quickly: at just 11 years old, she became a TV star.

However, it's not her undeniable artistic talent that draws most attention, but rather her fantastic personality. Isi is a clear-minded girl who has well-defined goals and knows her priorities. She's also a fierce fighter, who tests her strength every day and always wins.

Isidora and Pamela, a fabulous duo

Behind every great girl, there's always a great mother, and Isidora's case is no exception. Pamela Silva Grillé, her mother, has been a magnificent partner . It's clear that the two love each other deeply and share a passionate desire to fight for what they set out to do. Each, in her own way, has managed to overcome the tough challenges she's encountered along the way.

Pamela was very young when she became pregnant. At the time, she was in her third year of law school and had no plans to become a mother so soon. She was 28 weeks pregnant when her baby was born. The little girl spent her first month of life in an incubator.

Her premature birth and the difficult conditions in which she developed caused her to develop cerebral palsy and spastic diplegia. This has severely affected her motor skills. She was barely six months old when she arrived at Teleton, a place that has become her second home and has supported her throughout her recovery process.

An unexpected twist

Isidora has always been an exemplary child. Her mother, Pamela, says that at just over a year old, she already knew how to count to 10. She wasn't even 3 when she learned the alphabet. And at 4, she already knew how to read. It must be said that she became very fond of reading. Perhaps this, combined with the rigor of a rehabilitation that never stops, is what has made her visibly mature for her young age.

Then came Teleton's offer to be its image in 2011. Pamela accepted immediately because she knew her daughter had everything it took to become a role model, an inspiration to others. She wasn't wrong. All of Chile fell in love with that smiling, chatty little girl who knows how to make the most of everything.

Then came her role in a television series. It happened like all important things in life: spontaneously. One day, she was simply approached to join the cast of "Mi tesoro." Isi didn't respond immediately. She took her time to think about it and consult with her family. She then concluded that it was " a great opportunity for me to broaden my personality ." And she did. That's how she became famous at the age of 10.

From caterpillar to butterfly

Isidora is one of those people who doesn't celebrate her achievements too much. She achieves one goal and already has her sights set on the next. Along with her mother, she fought for a long time for surgery that would help prevent her muscles from shrinking. It's called a "musculotendinous transfer," and Isi waited a long time to have it performed. She finally got it and is now showing great progress in her recovery.

Isidora Guzmán is currently 13 years old and in eighth grade at Palmarés School in Quilicura. Her classmates love and support her, as does the school. When she has to miss school due to rehabilitation sessions, they help her catch up. She remains a cheerful and spontaneous girl who loves pop music and Disney movies.

She's also become a social media star, where hundreds of people send her loving messages every day. And no wonder. Seeing everything she's accomplished, many realize that nothing is impossible. She's like that star who stands there to remind us all that the only limit to human willpower is infinity.
